Since its founding thirty-five years ago, the collection of photographs has inspired more than 160 exhibitions at the Getty. Though these shows have illuminated the vast mosaic of the holdings, only a small percentage of the collection has ever been placed on public display. With Unseen, the entire curatorial team has collaborated on unearthing an array of treasures, none of which has been exhibited here before.

The photographs for "Succulent Screen" were taken in 2003 in Frank Lloyd Wright's Freeman House, as part of my Villa Aurora scholarship. The work was first shown at Christopher Grimes in 2007, during the exhibition "Lichtspiel". After several stops it entered the collection of the Getty Museum in 2018.

Seit seiner Gründung vor 35 Jahren, hat die photographische Sammlung mehr als 160 Ausstellungen im Getty bestückt. Obwohl diese Ausstellungen das breitgefächerte Spektrum des Bestands zeigen wurde nur ein winziger Bruchteil der Sammlung je gezeigt. Für die Ausstellung UNSEEN hat das gesamte Kuratoren Team des Getty Museums zusammengearbeitet, um eine Reihe von Schätzen zu entbergen, von denen bislang noch keines im Museum ausgestellt wurde.

Die Aufnahmen zu "Succulent Screen“ sind 2003 im Rahmen meines Villa Aurora Stipendiums im Freeman House von Frank Lloyd Wright entstanden. Erstmals wurde Succulent Screen 2007 bei Christopher Grimes in der Ausstellung „Lichtspiel“ gezeigt. Nach mehreren Stationen wurde die Arbeit 2018 für die Sammlung des Getty Museums erworben.
