The "Hufeisensiedlung" in Neukölln Britz, which was designed by Bruno Taut in the style of the "New Objectivity", represents the starting point of the building of great housing estates and the establishment of industrial working methods in the building business of the Weimar Republic. Veronika Kellndorfer investigates the entanglement of an architectural utopia and the traces of the everyday life.

In her research into the privatisation of the Hufeisensiedlung and the resulting shift in the understanding of the public space, she includes the inhabitants of the estate and intervenes with artistic attributes in the spatial situation.

Das Projekt 'Agglomération' untersucht die von Bruno Taut im Stil der Neuen Sachlichkeit gebaute Hufeisensiedlung. Wie überlagert sich die Geschichte einer architekto-nischen Utopie mit den Spuren des Alltags: Das Hufeisen als utopische Bauform par excellence – was ist von diesen utopischen Reserven achtzig Jahre  noch spürbar?

Auf dem leer stehenden Kopfhaus wird ein Neonschriftzug installiert und erinnert an die ehemalige Nutzung als STADTBÜCHEREI.

Für das Projekt werden aus dem Inneren dieses leerstehenden Ladens Dias nach außen projiziert. Die Treppe zwischen Lokal und dem seit Beginn des Projekts leerstehendem Laden wird freigeräumt und als Plattform für den Blick auf die Topographie des Geländes genutzt, während man gleichzeitig die an die Fenster projizierten Dias im Blick hat: Gegenwart und Vergangenheit, die Verschränkung von Öffentlichem und Privatem.
