Two glass towers installed in the interior of the Aachen Centre of Justice, set into the dominant oak grid structure. These towers encase the rear stairways in a U-form and extend from the large hall to the fourth floor. Mirrorings of seeing in contrast to the surrounding real architecture.

Blow-up: although the work adheres to the proportions of the building and is oriented to the height of the hall, it also “blows up” the spatial relationships by hugely enlarging the underlying motif - a photograph of the facade window of the Eames House in Los Angeles. The image as a whole remains concealed from view, continually reappearing in altered form through the floor divisions or interrupted and fragmented by the inner facade.

Ins Innere des Justizzentrums Aachen, eingelassen in die dominante Rasterstruktur des Eichenholzes, setze ich zwei gläserne Türme. Diese ummanteln, u-förmig, die rückwärtigen Treppenhäuser, reichen von der großen Halle bis ins vierte Geschoss, Verspiegelungen des Sehens, in Kontrast zur umgebenden, realen Architektur.

„Blow up“ - wenn die Arbeit den Proportionen der vorgegebenen Architektur folgt und an der Höhe der Halle orientiert bleibt, sprengt sie zugleich die räumlichen Verhältnisse, indem sie das zugrunde liegende Motiv, eine photographische Aufnahme der Fensterfront des Eames Hauses in Los Angeles, auf ein vielfaches seiner realen Größe hochzieht. Das Ganze jedoch bleibt dem Blick entzogen, erscheint immer wieder durch die Geschossteilungen verstellt oder von der Innenfassade unterbrochen und fragmentiert.
